EXPLAIN TO ME IN SIMPLE TERMS WHAT YOU DO

My role here at Corlytics is quite broad, which suits me perfectly. I am currently building the back-end software for one of our products. So, my day to day revolves around searching for data sources that are important to our clients and then building the necessary software to capture these insights into our database. When this project reaches a close, another will open which is a hugely exciting aspect of working at Corlytics.

DESCRIBE YOUR TYPICAL DAY AT CORLYTICS…

In the morning, the first thing I do is look at the news, especially the financial news. When I arrive at the office, I sort through my emails and list out tasks for the day. What we add and omit depends on a variety of factors, so it is important that as a team we discuss any pressing issues that arise.

MARKET FOCUSSED| CLIENT-FACING | INNOVATIVE

EXPLAIN TO ME IN SIMPLE TERMS WHAT YOU DO:

As general manager for the UK, I am involved in a little bit of everything. I spend most of my time working in the pre-sales and sales process to illustrate to clients the benefits of our offering. I work on pilots and delivery to ensure clients are happy with what they receive and to address concerns. I also like to think (though others may disagree) that I roll up my sleeves on data analysis, understanding the problem domain and helping to shape the solution with our product, development and delivery teams. What I like to think I am is a market focussed professional who helps to build products that customers want to buy!

DESCRIBE YOUR ROLE AT CORLYTICS IN THREE WORDS

VERSATILE | REGULATORY | REACTIONS

DESCRIBE A TYPICAL DAY IN THE LIFE OF CORLYTICS…

Every day is different, which is great. The needs of various projects require balance, which is achieved through communication between all teams. The flat hierarchical structure in Corlytics helps us all maintain agility in collaborating. My primary role as a legal and regulatory analyst means I continually interact with a wide range of financial regulation in an in-depth manner. This ensures continuous development of my personal and the team’s knowledge of regulatory problems we are trying to solve. Hence, we always continue to grow our domain expertise. This contributes to the team being able to accurately determine regulatory risk impact globally.

WHAT’S THE BEST THING ABOUT YOUR JOB?

As financial regulation is always spawning or changing, there is always something new to learn. The need to learn and improve my knowledge is something I find extremely fulfilling.

WHAT DO YOU SEE THE IMPACT OF CORLYTICS BEING IN THE LONG RUN?

This could be a huge generalisation, but I think my generation is very focused on getting a job that they’re interested in and that they find fulfilling. I chose to work in Corlytics because I believe we can make a difference. I see the company establishing a market position whereby we can integrate into structures across financial institutions and regulators, on a global scale, in real time. I’d love to be part of that, especially if it were to become the norm.
