Laura Banfield is a seasoned senior HR professional with a strong track record in small to medium-sized companies with a global footprint. She has developed a broad spectrum of HR expertise, working both in-house and as a consultant, supporting organisations through complex people management challenges. Throughout her career, Laura has worked in dynamic, fast-paced environments where priorities constantly evolve. A personable and strong communicator, she has proven expertise in project management, relationship-building and client management. At Corlytics, Laura applies a thoughtful and pragmatic approach to managing HR and employee relations, balancing commercial awareness with creativity. She has a keen ability to think strategically, aligning HR initiatives with business objectives to support sustainable growth and success.

Steve Barnes

Group CTO

Steve Barnes is the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Corlytics, where he leads the company’s technology strategy and drives innovation in the fintech and regtech sectors. With expertise in cloud computing, data security, and software development, Steve ensures that Corlytics stays at the forefront of regulatory intelligence, providing actionable risk insights to clients. Previously, he was CTO at AQMetrics, where he led cross-functional teams, implemented agile methodologies, achieved ISO27001 certification, and contributed to the company’s AI strategy. His earlier roles include senior positions at BAE Systems and Norkom Technologies, focusing on enterprise architecture and regulatory technology solutions.

Oisín Boydell

Chief Data Officer

Oisín is the Chief Data Officer at Corlytics, where he leads the AI strategy and implementation. Prior to joining Corlytics, Oisín was the Director of Applied Research at CeADAR, Ireland’s National Centre for Applied AI. He is recognised internationally for his expertise in artificial intelligence and data analytics.

With a PhD in Computer Science from University College Dublin, Dr. Oisín Boydell combines a strong academic foundation with extensive industry expertise. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, focusing on the intersection of AI and data analytics. Throughout his career, he has worked alongside public and private sector organisations to implement cutting-edge AI initiatives. A sought-after speaker, Oisín regularly presents at conferences and workshops, offering valuable insights into AI’s evolving role in shaping business strategies and its broader societal impact.

Paul Burleton

Chief Product Officer

Paul has over 20 years of experience in financial services and has a successful track record in finding intellectual solutions to business problems and implementing innovative technology solutions to support new businesses and process change, delivering efficiencies, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

He has held senior global operations leadership roles at Deutsche Bank, Lehman Brothers and Barclays and subsequently spent a number of years in technology consulting, leading on various regulatory initiatives and building strategic partnerships with RegTech solution providers.

As a senior leader and as a trusted advisor with the ability to communicate effectively within all levels of an organisation, Paul has been responsible for significant transformation, combining deep expertise with the ability to lead teams to successful outcomes. By nurturing a culture of innovation and empowerment, alongside a ‘can do’ attitude, Paul has been able to bring teams together to deliver sustainable change.

John Byrne

CEO

John Byrne is founder and CEO of Corlytics, responsible for setting the company’s vision and strategy.

He is a serial entrepreneur in the financial technology sector, John has built and sold a number of global technology based enterprises. He co-founded one of the first campus companies in Ireland in 1985 in the energy technology sector and built Information Mosaic in 1997, a global player in the securities software industry which was sold to Markit in 2015.

He set up Corlytics to provide real regulatory risk intelligence. Following a tsunami of global regulation arrived for the financial markets in 2009, John realised there was no joined up intelligence and predictive analytics to help the banks, regulators and their advisors make informed decisions. Corlytics was formed in 2013 and today is the global leader in regulatory risk intelligence.

John is a frequent speaker at industry events and has spoken at events such as SIBOS and NEMA. He has also spoken at many other conferences on operational and systemic risk and more recently at RegTech Summits in London and New York. He is also a board member of CeADAR, the Irish government’s technology centre for applied research in AI, machine learning and data analytics.

John is a graduate of Stanford Business School and has a Bachelors degree in Electronic Engineering.

Hazel Dowling

Head of Account Management

Hazel is Head of Delivery at Corlytics. Her role entails managing the delivery of all projects both internally and externally. Hazel deals directly with our clients and ensures a smooth and efficient implementation which exceeds our clients expectations.

Hazel brings to this role over 15 years’ experience in the financial services and software industry. Starting out in the dot com boom, her experience covers both national and international financial services organisations as well as bringing experience from other global sectors such as Utilities. Hazel is a seasoned project manager having managed large scale projects across organisations in the regulatory, payments and change management areas for companies such as Bank of Scotland (Ireland), AIG, and Actavo. She has also consulted on many projects in the Agile and client delivery space and enjoys working in a cross functional capacity.

Hazel holds a Bachelor of Business Studies from the Institute of Technology Tallaght, Dublin and a Graduate Diploma in Computer Science from University College Dublin.

Evgeny Likhoded

Head of Innovation

Evgeny (Jay) Likhoded is the President at Corlytics. He oversees the strategic vision of the product and the development of key areas and driving strategic initiatives.

Evgeny’s journey in the compliance and technology landscape has been marked by over a decade of dedicated service within the legal and compliance profession in financial services and energy sectors. Having worked in legal and compliance, Evgeny sought to improve the current ways companies can understand and meet their compliance obligations and ensure that compliance is embedded into their business.

In 2012, he founded Clausematch bringing a unique vision to the market and building a cutting-edge compliance management platform that helps regulated organisations to operate safely and bring compliant products to the market.

In July 2023, Clausematch was strategically acquired by Corlytics. In a move to redefine regulatory technology two of the leading global RegTech companies joined forces to cover the entire regulatory value chain, and Evgeny took on the position of President of Corlytics.

Evgeny holds Law Degrees from the University of Exeter and the University of Rennes

Kent MacKenzie

Group COO

Kent MacKenzie joins Corlytics as Group COO after a decade at Deloitte where he specialised in Digital Compliance Management and RegTech.  Corlytics acquired Deloitte UK’s Regtech Platform in May 2024.  As a Partner in Deloitte, Kent led the development and creation of the Firm’s digital compliance platform, now widely adopted by major Financial Services and Life Science clients for end-to-end digital compliance management.
Prior to Deloitte, Kent spent 8 years in the Financial Service industry.  He was responsible for redefining and embedding regulatory operating models, leverage new forms of technology and data analytics.  During his career, Kent has held several senior roles with Lloyds Banking Group, Morgan Stanley, and NWG.

Kent MacKenzie is also a founding member of Fintech Scotland an has actively supported the development of Fintech and RegTech ecosystems around the world.

Susie MacKenzie

Head of Legal and Regulatory Analytics

Susie MacKenzie is Head of Legal Analysis at Corlytics. She leads a team of specialists in monitoring key legal and regulatory changes as well as enforcement actions. Her team provides clients with relevant, practical and consumable analysis of key developments which impact their activities.

Susie is qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales. She trained and qualified at Herbert Smith Freehills, specialising in corporate law matters. She worked both as an associate and as a Professional Support Lawyer during her time at HSF. Susie also spent a period of time working in the Corporate Department of HSF’s alliance firm in Germany, Gleiss Lutz.

In recent years, Susie worked as a subject matter expert for Indicator-FL Memo, one of the leading know how service providers in the UK, where she was sole editor of a handbook on Company Law.

Susie MacKenzie holds a degree in Law with German Law from King’s College London and the University of Passau.

Mairead McCabe

Head of Operations

Mairead is Head of Operations at Corlytics with a focus on enhancing the definition and growth of the Corlytics solutions in its markets including responsibility for product strategy, roadmap and regulatory coverage.

Mairead comes to Corlytics with a proven track record of more than 20 years’ leading product management for financial technology companies. She was most recently the Executive Director of Client Solutions at IHS Markit. Prior to this she was with Information Mosaic, working with the founder and CEO as part of a team to pivot the organisation from a start-up structure to the implementation of best practice approaches and operational thinking to support scale on a global level.

Mairead has a degree in Business and Economics from Trinity College Dublin and a Post Graduate Diploma Information Technology in DCU.

Elaine Mullan

Head of Marketing and Business Development

Elaine is head of marketing and business development with a primary objective of leading growth through the creation and execution of a successful acquisition strategy. This includes developing positioning and messaging for solutions designed for the disruptive marketplace as it continues to grow.

Elaine joins Corlytics with a proven track record of scaling firms to enhance market position and revenue. She has designed and implemented impactful go-to-market strategies, delivering strong results. Her experience spans international technology firms, including those based in France, Australia, Russia, Ireland, Israel, and the United Kingdom.

Elaine has qualifications in both marketing and design and is a graduate of the Marketing Institute of Ireland.

Ray O'Donnell

Chief Tech Architect

As Chief tech Architect, Ray oversees the current and future technical architecture across all Group Platforms.
Prior to working with Corlytics, Ray was chief technical architect for NetReveal, a division of BAE Systems focused on the detection and prevention of financial crime. Ray joined BAE Systems through its acquisition of Norkom Technologies, a company of which he was co-founder in 1998. Prior to that Ray worked for Cap Gemini, where he established its technology consulting practice in Ireland, and for a number of software companies in Ireland.

Ray brings to Corlytics decades of experience in architecting and delivering high-performance analytical software products to global Tier 1 and Tier 2 financial institutions to fit within their mission-critical infrastructure.

Ray holds an honours degree in Computer Science from University College Dublin.

Mike O'Keeffe

SVP, Global Head, Digital Transformation & Innovation, Financial Services

Mike O’Keeffe is global head of digital transformation & innovation, financial services innovation and general manager of Corlytics Solutions Limited, which serves the UK market. As general manager, Mike is responsible for leading operations in the UK and ensuring customer needs are met, from initial sales conversations right through to product delivery and on-going support. Mike works closely with customers to exceed expectations and ensure that they gain an immediate return on their investment through successful solution implementations. He has over 15 years in the development and delivery of advanced analytics solutions for the risk, compliance, fraud and security markets to major blue-chip organisations.

Prior to working with Corlytics, Mike held roles as general manager of security product innovation at Telstra, as VP of product management and product marketing at Cognevo, and had senior product management and delivery roles at BAE Systems Applied Intelligence and Norkom Technologies. Mike holds a degree in Industrial Biochemistry, and a graduate diploma in Technical Communications from the University of Limerick and an MBA from Dublin City University.
